Dancing In The Stars
Dancing In The Stars
Your poet for a while
In mutual love and trust,
I hope I served
Our years together well.
A joy it was,
Completed, yes,
And now it’s time,
It’s time now,
Time to vanish in the light.
Don’t worry ‘bout me,
A smile, a sigh,
I’m fine, all’s well —
Just like a song,
In the air and gone,
Sailing through the skies,
Dancing in the stars.
Talk to the moon at night;
Tell it everything you feel,
And seal it with a kiss.
Send your whisper-cries to me
On silver moonbeams,
I will hear you singing.
I lived and loved
The best I could for you.
No warrior or genius,
All I had were heartsongs;
Sometimes
Only you stood by
To see or hear or care
Enough to know me;
Your love’s shining strength
Brought life in me alive,
Made every struggle joyous,
Always you were there —
The radiant musiclight
Inside the songs
That riverflowed
Through both of us,
Not just me alone.
Recall
The trails we walked,
Woods and streams,
The melodies, laughter, tears.
Remember briefly,
Do not dwell,
Then kiss our years goodbye,
Wipe your eyes
And live again,
Yes, come to care again,
And love anew.
Don’t worry ‘bout me,
A smile, a sigh,
I’m fine, all’s well —
Just like a song,
In the air and gone
Sailing through the skies,
Dancing in the stars.
